Frequently asked questions
Some common questions about Skylark.
Completely free and open source (MIT). The code lives on GitHub — use and contribute freely.
Clash YAML, V2Ray Base64, SIP008, plus single-node links like ss / vmess / vless / trojan / hysteria2 / tuic.
Yes. Paste a Clash YAML, V2Ray Base64 or SIP008 subscription link to import — nodes and provider subscriptions migrate seamlessly to sing-box. Routing rules support domain, GeoSite, GeoIP, port and process matching plus remote rule-sets, so your Clash / V2Ray rule habits carry over to Skylark.
Built on the sing-box core, Skylark keeps resource usage low with strong concurrency, and shows live memory and uptime. It stays smooth on low-spec devices and older machines, ideal for long-running sessions and high-concurrency use.
Skylark is built on the sing-box core, focused on a lightweight, native-title-bar, frosted-glass UI with a visual routing-rule editor.
That’s macOS blocking an unsigned app. Right-click Skylark in Applications → Open → Open again. If it still fails, run xattr -cr /Applications/Skylark.app in Terminal and retry.
When SmartScreen shows “Windows protected your PC”, click More info → Run anyway. Some antivirus tools may false-positive — add Skylark to your trust / allow list.
TUN needs admin rights: on Windows the first launch auto-elevates via UAC and downloads the WinTun driver — click Yes. System proxy and TUN are mutually exclusive; enable only one at a time.
Check the link is valid and reachable (provider links usually need connectivity first). Try switching nodes or enabling the proxy before updating, and make sure the link is a supported Clash / V2Ray / SIP008 format.
Settings include a built-in update check — download and switch core versions in one click.
An abnormal exit can leave the system proxy set; reopen Skylark and quit normally to clear it, or turn the proxy off manually in system network settings. If a port is in use, pick another local port or close the app holding it.
Windows 10 / 11 (64-bit x64) and macOS 11 or later; macOS supports both Apple Silicon and Intel.
No. Skylark is a purely local client and never uploads your subscriptions, nodes or traffic.
